ENDORSEMENTS
David Randel Jr. has been a non-stop powerhouse of energy and inspiration in the Attack Proof system. He has worked with me directly as an instructor in my regular, advanced, police and military classes. His practical knowledge of fighting came from years of experience as a nightclub security expert where he has had a number of serious violent armed and unarmed altercations that he has controlled with no permanent injury to the clientele. David has also worked with me personally on a number of sensitive bodyguard assignments and performed admirably. I consider him to be an excellent instructor in the art of Ki Chuan Do and Close Quarters Combat.

I had been a rank novice searching for a highly effective form of self defense that could be learned and applied; that would meet me where I was right now. As the head of the lighting department of ABC's Good Morning America I also needed it to be close by so as to ensure my being able to attend with regularity due to the severity of my extremely early work schedule. To have been able to discover "Attack Proof" and Dave Randel at the same time was a landslide of good fortune to my family and I. Six years later I can say that Dave's expert teaching has afforded me a level of expertise that allows me to walk with an inner peace and confidence I had never known before. Unlike the stubborn pride and bravado that accompanies so many martial arts today David's "gentle warrior" approach expresses his dedication to his art and embodies the integrity, respect and honor that is the true essence of "budo." He is a man wise beyond his years that lives out his ethics and convictions by example in his life. He will forever have my highest respect and gratitude. I highly recommend your getting to know him.

Aside from Dave’s accolades as a fighter and teacher, he is a man of tremendous stature and undying loyalty. As a member of an internationally recognized heavy metal band, I was fortunate to have had Dave on our team as our personal body/security guard. Throughout the years Dave has diffused many potential mishaps and has always been willing to commit himself to whatever situation might arise for the sake of our well-being. I have never met a person more convicted in his conduct; and as anybody who knows him will testify, his conduct and character are that of a proud and accomplished Ki Chuan Do and Close Quarters Combat expert and instructor (FYI, he also happens to be a massive, massive man). I can honestly say that many potential hospital visits have been avoided as a result of Dave’s expertise and camaraderie.

As a person of larger physical stature, Dave is a great teaching example of the art's critical principles of Sensitivity and Looseness. He could choose to simply blast people, relying on his size, but instead he augments his abilities by being elusive and snake-like. These essential attributes of Guided Chaos he ably passes on in his training.

Coming to take self-defense classes for the first time I was a little intimidated. Being the only girl and only one in the class at that time who never took any martial arts classes before. He's the perfect teacher: patient, calm and very passionate about teaching. Every class he teaches you something new, every class he pushes you a little bit more to get you out of your comfort zone, to make it worth your time and effort -- to make you a better fighter. Take his group class or better yet, let him give you a private class and you'll see. He'll give you his one-on-one attention. It's intense, but you'll learn more than you've ever thought possible.

Dave Randel Jr. is hands down the best teacher of self defense I've ever worked with. He has quite literally been able to liberate my movement and show me my potential as a fighter. He conveys his information with adept tactile sensitivity and a genuine love of making those he teaches stronger fighters with greater self confidence. I wholeheartedly endorse his work.

Over the last 15 years directly under the instruction of John C Perkins, Founder, I have grown through the ranks of Ki Chuan Do, side by side with Dave. He has overcome obstacles and put forth tremendous effort to become the superb practitioner & effective instructor that he is today. Simply having knowledge or skill does not make someone a good teacher. To be a good teacher it takes a little something special. David Randel Jr. has that special something and I support all of his endeavors as a teacher/instructor of self defense, protection & security.

Since I've begun training in KCD, I feel that Mr. Randel has been able to convey all of the technical aspects of KCD in a manner that has been easily comprehensible and would be for any martial arts practitioner of any level or background. Because of his expertise in fighting and his ability to teach it, I continuously experience dramatic advancements in my martial ability. Thanks to Mr. Randel, I can approach the potential for real-world violence with a much higher level of confidence, be it in a combat theater or the streets of New York City.

About Big Dave, Ki Chuan Do is an extremely dynamic art, best suited for the unpatterned chaos of a real street attack situation. Dave's vast knowledge, as well as his teaching style is as real as it gets, since you don't get a second chance to make a first impression when your life is on the line. His thoroughness as he combines balance, dynamic movement, looseness, and hitting technique, is at the highest level. His adaptability as a trainer makes him extremely effective when teaching all skill levels - from the beginner to the advanced martial artist. Dave learned from the best (John Perkins), and along with that knowledge comes a teaching method that is far superior to what is found in "traditional" martial arts schools.

David Randel Jr. excels at finding ways to push students beyond their plateaus and ensure they can implement their new skills. I highly recommend that any student of the fighting arts take a private lesson from Mr. Randel. His instruction has helped me break past barriers (both mental and physical) in my training.

David Randel is without a doubt one of the most innovative instructors in the KCD system. David's ability to think creatively while still keeping the fundamental aspects of the system in play and his ability to tailor training to address a particular student's strengths and weakness is truly extraordinary. David has truly shown me and countless others simple, practical ways to further our path down the road of martial ability. And it's all done with a smile. Highly recommended.

David Randel Jr. is an extraordinary teacher who can with uncanny precision zero in on a student's specific needs while learning this art. Every encounter is enlightening and rewarding, enabling quantum leaps of progress. In addition, his encounters with real-life violence are lessons in themselves. AAA+++ Recommendation.

I've had not only the unique experience of training with David Randel., but also that of witness to his martial ability in nightclub security "situations". I've seen the man under stress and I've seen what he can do. Training with David has vastly upgraded both my self-defense skill and my overall mobility, and I know this through my own scary experiences. Before I had met him, I had been trained in the martial arts, but to a large degree, none of my training had really been explained or examined. Punching combinations and kata pretty much went out the window (or became incidental) when the spit hit the fan. But Dave, throughout the many years of my training with him, has shown me how far I can grow as a martial artist. I can honestly say I've come a long way since I started training with him at his Sunday-morning sessions way back in '99.

I would like to start off by saying that I am not one that is easily
convinced that something is truly superior. After taking Ki Chuan Do
classes for a while, I believe that I have found an art form that is as
close to perfection as martial arts can get. I have made more progress
in personal development from this art in the last few months than I have
taking jujitsu for 8 years. On few occasions, I have had the honor of being
instructed by Dave Randel. Through his mastery of combat, his real-world
experiences, and his exceptional teaching methods and drills, Dave has
helped me excel to the next level in such a short amount of time. I now
feel a greater sense of confidence and pride, and I would recommend him to any person who is serious
about learning how to defend themselves in the worst of situations.
